v0.0.1-rc9 — current public build

Released 2026-07-06. Capture reliability release:

  • Screen capture now converts frames on the GPU by default (D3D11 VideoProcessor), fixing silent screen-share failures on some AMD systems
  • Native capture errors are surfaced in logs instead of failing silently

v0.0.1-rc8

  • Speaking indicators — usernames light up while someone is talking, themed to your color scheme
  • Fixed choppy screen-share quality at medium/low viewer quality levels
  • Fixed screen-share aspect ratio distortion in worker-mode rendering
  • Display names are now unique per server, enforced at every write path
  • Large-roster E2EE joins no longer trip message-size limits

v0.0.1-rc7

  • Upgrades preserve your device identity — no more re-linking devices after installing a new build
  • Fixed stuck unread badges after relaunch; unread counts now converge reliably
  • E2EE reliability fixes for device recovery and re-joining rooms
  • Server-side fixes for lock contention and unbounded table growth under load

v0.0.1-rc6

The first publicly downloadable release candidate. Baseline feature set:

  • Windows and Linux (x64) desktop clients
  • Self-hosted server (Windows, Linux, Docker)
  • Text chat, private groups, and DMs with MLS end-to-end encryption
  • Voice/video rooms with end-to-end encrypted media
  • Native screen sharing with process-specific audio capture
  • Global push-to-talk (works while unfocused)
  • Admin panel, roles, and permissions
  • Web client for browser access
